Our socks are crafted with meticulous care and a distinct touch. The journey commences with the careful selection of local wool, gathered from nomadic Gaddis who roam our village from summer to fall. Known as "desi oon," this wool harmoniously blends various indigenous breeds referred to as Gaddi breeds.
The dedicated hands of our women embark on the meticulous task of cleaning and sorting the wool, ensuring precision in the preparation of each fiber. Progressing further, the fibers make their way to Kullu for carding, a process that enhances their texture. Upon returning to our village, we utilize a unique tool called a takhli for the art of hand-spinning the wool, imparting a personal touch to each strand.
Guided by a commitment to nature, we responsibly collect dyeing materials from the orchards and fields surrounding our villages. Utilizing local plants found in the mountains during different seasons, we delicately dye the yarns. The result is a breathtaking array of naturally colored yarns, expertly knit or woven into our products.
Each piece in our collection acts as a vessel, embodying the traditions and skills of our community. It offers more than just a garment. From the nomadic pastures to the hands of our artisans, our socks encapsulate the essence of nature, tradition, and craftsmanship, providing you with something truly special and warm.
